Our Story

Alvarez Resiliency Therapy was founded by Yessica Garcia Alvarez, an immigrant in Chicago who recognized the need for accessible, culturally responsive mental health services within the community.

Understanding the stigma, systemic barriers, and challenges that many Latino communities face when seeking therapy, our agency is committed to making mental health care more accessible and inclusive. We provide bilingual telehealth services and offer pro bono and low-sliding-scale options to help reduce financial and accessibility barriers.

At Alvarez Resiliency Therapy, we see each person as a whole. We recognize that every individual’s experiences, culture, relationships, and circumstances shape their mental health journey.
